We visited El Palacio Buffet yesterday, August 9, 2026, with our family of four, including two children, ages 11 and 7. We paid approximately $85 for the four of us, but this was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The food was absolutely unacceptable. Many dishes looked old, dry, and unappetizing. The rice appeared burned, other food looked like it had been sitting out for a long time, and there was a very strong and unpleasant smell throughout the buffet and dining area. We put a small amount of food on our plates and tried to eat, but we simply could not. The smell and appearance of the food were so bad that I literally felt like I was going to vomit. We left after only a few minutes. What is especially misleading is the difference between the photos shown on the restaurant’s website and what we actually saw in person. The food shown in the website photos looks completely different from the food we encountered during our visit. Some of the website images appear to be digitally created, heavily edited, or staged rather than representative of the actual food being served. This was one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant looked run down and poorly maintained, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. I noticed bugs and ants around the food, which immediately made me question the kitchen’s sanitation standards. The food looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. Many of the dishes were dry, stale, and far from fresh. The quality was disappointing, especially for a buffet that’s supposed to keep food properly stocked and maintained. The service wasn’t any better. The staff seemed uninterested, and despite the poor experience, the waiter still asked for a tip, which was surprising considering the condition of the restaurant and the level of service. To make matters worse, I ended up with a stomach ache after eating here. Whether it was from the food or not, it certainly didn’t leave me with any confidence in the restaurant’s food handling practices. I won’t be returning, and I would strongly recommend checking the condition of the food and the restaurant before deciding to eat here.

This place is genuinely disgusting and sad My family took me here trying to celebrate and they haven’t been back in the area for a while and it was a big mistake All the rice was old The fried chicken was so black old and dried up it remembers its masters name The Churros are so hard that I could kill someone with it as it actively made a hard tunk noise when I hit it on my plate And I don’t know who told them that Chow Mein noodles with Tomato sauce counts as Spagetti Don’t come here There waiters are nice but the food is something they should be paying YOU to eat I will rate it one star later if it gives me good poising

I been wanting to check this buffet out. It's bit far from where I live. I was like 14 mins away in Nona area, so I decided to try it. There's good amount to choose from but it all seemed not to be fresh. I mean if I owned it... employee would at VERY LEAST stir the dishes so they LQQK fresher. Skinned over dishes...Mac looked orange till I stirred it up. Chicken was over cooked. Crab was not great, the oil they were fried in must be old. I can normally eat 3-5 plates of blue crab. I did one and was done. I pretty much ate their fresh avocado, cilantro, red onion, cucumber, shredded cabbage with shredded carrot. Jalapeno was fresh too. When I asked for a in house hot sauce? Guy brought over kikkoman sriracha sauce. 🙃 Which worked, but c'mon y'all don't make a in-house hot sauce? I ate my money worth in peel n' eat shrimp. I peeled a bunch and added to my avocado salad. I would NOT recommend them for $18++ meal. 👀 I mean even the things like FLAN should have been delicious! It was like a 5 otta 10. It was extremely hot in the building. The waitress had our side filthy, dirty plates stacked on tables guest couldn't sit down, I also caught her in the bathroom didn't wash her hands! Just nasty they need to keep her in the back I told to go get a manager several times still ain't seen one. Food inspectors really need to surprise them Food was ok but make them put out fresh ! How u leave burnt rice on buffet& service sucked!
